France has always come either second or joint first to Spain as a favoured destination among Brits looking for a new home, or even a new life, overseas. Offering an idyllic landscape and way of life, but only a short distance away from Britain by car or train, France is beginning to attract investors as well as a retirees and holiday home buyers.

While the traditional European favourites like France, Spain and Italy are 'competing' with emerging markets such as Bulgaria, Cyprus and Turkey, France in particular has seen increasing interest in its own emerging regions. Driven by new transport links and flights to local airports, more Brits are discovering new parts of France during short
weekend breaks. Our homes are situated all over France in both established and new areas, providing access to a variety of property types, locations and experiences.

Perhaps the most popular region among Brits, our properties in Provence stretch over the river Rhone into the Alpilles (or little Alps) with towns such as St. Remy de Provence - famous for a landscape that inspired Van Gogh, Gaugin and many other famous artists. Pertuis, a typical Provencal town close to Aix en Provence, is steeped in history and the birthplace of Cezanne.

The area covers a large part of southern France such as the Luberon, with its picturesque villages including Gordez, the colourful Rousillion (known as Little Colorado), and Isle sur la Sorgue, with its amazing collection of antique shops. There are scores of medieval villages, many nestling on hillsides, and all with breathtaking views.

The capital of Provence is atmospheric Avignon, with its wonderful southerly views towards Arles and Camargue, famous for its Roman arenas, bullfighting, horses and beaches. There are four golf courses within 20 minutes drive of St. Remy de Provence and many more close to the city of Marseilles. Provence is reputed to have the purest air in France and largely consists of National Parkland with strict environmental controls.

We have a number of superb new-build developments in the area, within secure gated communities and using local stone, reclaimed timbers and other building materials. Low cost airlines such as EasyJet and RyanAir fly into Lyon in the north and Nimes and Nice in the south. BA and Air France fly into Nice and Marseilles, with Eurostar supporting new transport links.

This luscious region of France, dotted by the Pyrenees, has beaches, medieval towns and villages. Boasting outdoor recreation of every kind, including vineyards that produce robust varieties, it is still relatively unknown and prices remain low. This region was recently identified by several major property portals as an up-and-coming market, based on an increase in enquiries.

From St Tropez to Frejus, Cannes, Antibes, Nice and onto the Riviera of Menton, Ventimigilia and San Remo, we have villas, apartments and gated properties as well as luxury homes on private estates and inexpensive, newly built houses and apartments.

Less well-known, and now especially good value for UK buyers, is the beautiful south western area around the cathedral city of Cahors (known as Lote and Tarn et Garonne). It is only two hours drive to the Pyrenees and less to the Mediterranean and Andorra, Bordeaux and Carcasonne. Nearby Cirq-lapopie is said to be the oldest town in all of France. All are within easy reach of unspoilt character homes with views of snowcapped mountains.
